After working for a regional insurance brokerage firm that was acquired in 2021 by the world’s largest insurance brokerage company, it quickly became apparent that the promises of large national leverage and sophistication within the employee benefits space was lacking.  Bigger is certainly not better.  Bigger is bigger.  Bigger was more challenging, less supportive and knowledgeable about our local markets, often slower, clumsy, inflexible, arrogant and complaisant. Our team wanted to be anything but the above. This is when the name “Wake” was born. 

A wake is made from the impact of a boat as it moves through water causing the water to rebound to a higher point than its normal position.  A wake is created by a combination of factors such as the size and weight of the boat, its speed, direction, shape and size of the hull, wind, current, and the weight and distribution of the boat’s cargo.  Similarly, our clients rebounding to a higher point than their normal position was our goal with customized elements to make desired results a true reality. Our mission is to consistently move our clients to a higher point.  As the years go by, our mission is to adjust our elements to create even higher and more consistent, reliable and sustainable positions for our clients.
